Royal Alexandria Hospital Campus has exciting opportunities for Backshift Domestic Assistants within our support service team. The predominant purpose of the Facilities Assistant (Domestic) role is to provide a quality domestic service to the hospital ensuring that a clean and safe environment is maintained for patients, staff and visitors. You will be following agreed cleaning work schedules, methods and procedures in accordance with NHS Scotland National Cleaning Specification and Healthcare Acquired infection (HAI_ Task Force Code of Practice). There is the requirement to rotate around our wards, clinical areas and all departments within the Royal Alexandria Hospital Campus. Your duties will include: Provide an efficient, high quality domestic service to patients and staff, follow specific schedule of work relating to defined areas. Duties include cleaning all areas of our hospitals clinical and non-clinical locations - activities will include wet mopping, vacuuming, emptying bins, replenishing supplies, cleaning fixtures, and furniture and toilet/bathroom areas. There is the requirement for you have a flexible approach to daily routine. There will be the use of economic and safe use of cleaning agents, following manufacturers recommended instructions. In some roles you may be required to use mechanical cleaning equipment. You are required to wear protective clothing as supplied by the Department and complete all daily/weekly sign off sheets for areas of work. All necessary training will be offered to ensure your working environment is safe, and you are confident within your role. Please note candidates will be required to attend/travel to West Glasgow Ambulatory Care Hospital for 3-day centralised induction which is mandatory before starting.
