Responsibilities of an SEN Teacher: Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for students with SEN. Collaborate with teaching assistants to provide individualised support and create a positive classroom atmosphere. Monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods to ensure successful learning outcomes. Implement behaviour management strategies to foster a safe and respectful learning environment. Support students with their emotional and social development, promoting resilience and self-esteem. Provide regular updates to parents on student progress and work together to meet the needs of each child. Work with external professionals, including educational psychologists, to create tailored learning plans. Ensure compliance with school policies and contribute to the overall development of the school's SEN provision. SEN Teacher Skills & Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant qualification is a must. A degree in Education, Psychology, SEN or a similar field. Prior experience teaching students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Strong understanding of SEN strategies and techniques. A compassionate and patient approach, with a commitment to supporting students in achieving their goals. Ability to differentiate lessons to accommodate various learning styles.
