What's the job
1. Line Management: Line manage program/project managers across the platform team providing leadership, guidance, mentoring, and performance management to ensure effective delivery.
2. Chapter Leadership: Champion chapter activities related to quality improvement, skill development, and fostering a sense of belonging across the program and project management community. Support teams to define, implement and continually improve project standards including project documentations, processes, ways of working, tooling, and planning.
3. Strategic Delivery Planning & Reporting: Create and maintain the delivery pipeline for large-scale programs, providing strategic oversight and resourcing plans to ensure alignment with business priorities. Prepare consolidated material from project reports for monthly review.
4. Governance & Standards Oversight: Ensure adherence to program governance standards, supporting program managers in preparing for Governance Boards.
5. Financial Oversight: Collaborate with the finance team to undertake financial modelling and cost tracking at the platform level, ensuring clear visibility into budget allocations and financial health.
6. Risk & Dependency Management: Track and report on key risks, issues, and dependencies across platform programs, providing regular updates to governance bodies and leadership teams.
7. Delivery leadership: Creation and maintenance of programme milestone plan, with inputs from all domain and platform teams, collaborate with the team to maximise delivery of value to Customers, responsible for managing the achievement of overall programme objective, estimating, allocating, and controlling programme costs against agreed budgets, measuring value realised.
What you'll bring
1. Leadership & People Management: Proven experience in leading, mentoring, and managing program managers, with strong skills in performance management and team development, fostering high performance and accountability.
2. Program & Project Management Expertise: In-depth knowledge of program and project management principles, including experience with large-scale, complex programs across multiple workstreams.
3. Strategic Planning & Delivery: Proven ability to develop and maintain strategic delivery pipelines, aligning program plans with business priorities, and managing resource allocation effectively.
4. Governance & Stakeholder Management: Expertise in preparing governance submissions, tracking actions, and producing high-quality reports for senior stakeholders. Ability to ensure adherence to governance and standards across programs.
5. Financial Acumen: Strong financial oversight and budgeting skills, including experience in financial modelling and working closely with finance teams to ensure budget alignment and financial health of programs.
6. Risk & Dependency Management: Advanced capability in identifying, tracking, and reporting on risks, issues, and dependencies across multiple programs, with the ability to escalate and resolve challenges proactively.
7. Collaboration & Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across teams, lead chapter activities, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
8. Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement: Ability to drive continuous improvement in program standards, processes, and ways of working, ensuring consistent quality and performance.
