Our client is a Lloyds Motor Underwriter seeking an Underwriting Assistant to join their High Net Worth and Specialist Motor team in their Romford office. This role is ideal for a confident, personable, and ambitious individual with experience dealing with motor insurance policies.
Main Duties:
1. Proactively develop and maintain relationships with brokers and key stakeholders to drive improved performance and results.
2. Manage administrative requirements for the team and assist with day-to-day business operations.
3. Underwrite mid-term activity for existing clients and support underwriters with new business enquiries.
4. Review and resolve account queries, including aged debt management.
5. Issue and manage documentation for broking partners.
6. Participate in professional, technical, and career development training (internally and externally).
7. Ensure compliance with FCA and all regulatory requirements.
8. Assist in training colleagues on systems and processes.
9. Support planning and delivery of system testing.
10. Contribute to discussions for business improvements.
Essential Skills Required:
1. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
2. Account handling or underwriting experience dealing with motor insurance.
3. A proactive and efficient approach to meeting brokers' and clients' high service expectations.
4. Attention to detail and the ability to manage administrative tasks accurately.
5. Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements in the insurance industry.
Desirable:
1. Previous experience in underwriting.
2. A proven track record of driving business improvements and results.
