Job: Team Leader - Residential Support Worker
Location: Wednesbury
Hours: Full time (180hrs a month)
Service: Children's Residential Care

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. To supervise other support workers within the team as required in line with company policy and expectations.
2. To be the designated responsible person for the home and its young people when on shift, and ensure daily handovers are taking place and communications are delivered to a high standard.
3. To promote, safeguard, and protect the welfare of each child.
4. Encourage children to develop their full educational and vocational attainment.
5. Establish and maintain positive and trusting relationships with the children that will promote their sense of security.
6. Provide firm, consistent, and fair boundaries in respect of their behaviour and employ appropriate and agreed consequences.
7. Ensure that appropriate medical help is provided in cases of illness and accidents.
8. Promote the development of a healthy lifestyle for children.
9. Assist children in the development and sustaining of positive social networks with adults and other peer groups.
10. To organise and participate in group activities and group holidays.
11. To undertake routine administrative tasks and provide written reports and maintain the Child’s file as required by the organisation’s policies and procedures.
12. Compile reports, including Reviews, Progress and Incident reports.
13. Adhere to appropriate guidelines and procedures. To receive complaints in accordance with the policies and procedures of the organisation.
14. To undertake financial management and recording of day to day petty cash maintenance in accordance with the organisation’s policies and procedures.
15. To carry out duties in accordance with the health & safety at work act, adopting safe working practices, in accordance with the organisation’s policies and procedures.
The Ideal Candidate:
What we are looking for:
1. Someone who is passionate about raising the bar for children in care.
2. A minimum of Level 3 Diploma with Children & Young People.
3. Flexibility within your hours; able to work shifts, weekends.
4. Good understanding of Safeguarding.
5. Good understanding of professional boundaries and how to maintain them.
