BFG provides a holistic framework in which children and young people’s emotional, cultural, religious, social, educational, health, and well-being needs are met. Our individual outcome and quality-focused care support plans will be tailored to meet the needs of each child and young person by having a team of professionally trained, compassionate, and dedicated staff.
Responsibilities:
* Become acting manager of a residential home.
* Work under the direction of the Registered Manager/Assistant Manager to actively contribute to the provision of quality care, promoting the health, welfare, education, and development of young people.
* Contribute towards the maintenance of a positive, safe, and homely environment, ensuring the safety and care of young people is paramount.
* Work proactively with the team within the daily routine and agreed structures of the house, including day-to-day parenting responsibilities and participation in activities with young people.
* Work in partnership with parents, social workers, agencies, and other professionals linked to the young person’s care plan.
* Undertake keyworker responsibility for individual young people, focusing on specific needs identified in their care plans.
* Follow and act in accordance with all relevant legislation, regulation, and company policies and procedures.
* Work collectively with team members to manage young people who exhibit challenging behavior, in accordance with company policy.
* Take the lead in decision-making, ensuring paperwork is completed to required standards.
* Undertake appropriate training as identified by the Registered Manager or Assistant Manager.
* Accompany children and young people on recreational activities, demonstrating positive role modeling.
* Attend home visits and provide specialist outreach services as required.
* Participate in case reviews and provide support when difficulties arise.
* Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young persons.
* Report any noticeable changes in health, behavior, or circumstances of children and young people to management.
* Be a key member of the care team and work collaboratively with others.
* Be innovative, creative, flexible, and open to learning.
* Demonstrate empathy, sensitivity, self-awareness, and acceptance of others.
Training will take place within contracted working hours, and will include a range of virtual classes, online training, and face-to-face sessions (where possible).
Shifts: Day shift, Monday to Friday; Night shift; Weekend availability. Shifts tbc.
