We are seeking a seasoned senior scientist with expertise in computer vision to join the Amazon Studios AI Labs team. This is a hybrid applied science and engineering team that is developing bleeding edge AI solutions to enhance efficiency and elevate creativity.
Key job responsibilities
We are looking for a Senior Applied Scientist with domain expertise in Computer Vision who will lead the development of new algorithms and E2E solutions. You will be part of a team responsible for research, design, development, and deployment of algorithms into production pipelines. You will also drive publications of original work in top-tier conferences in Computer Vision and Machine Learning.
A day in the life
As a senior applied scientist at Amazon, you'll be diving deep into groundbreaking computer vision and ML challenges. Your typical day involves architecting large-scale ML systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring junior scientists. You'll work with massive datasets, optimize model performance, and ensure production readiness.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. PhD in engineering, technology, computer science, machine learning, robotics, operations research, statistics, mathematics or equivalent quantitative field
2. Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
3. Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning
4. Experience in building machine learning models for business application
5. Experience in applied research
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy etc.
2. Experience with large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark etc.
