Engineering Program Director
Hanover College, a private liberal arts institution in Indiana, seeks an Engineering Program Director to lead its engineering program. The successful candidate will begin in July 2025 and hold the Gary and Judy Montgomery Endowed Professor of Engineering. The position is tenure-eligible, with rank determined by qualifications and experience.
The Director will oversee Hanover's engineering program, offering both ABET-accredited BS and non-ABET-accredited BA degrees in Engineering Science. The program aims to produce graduates with technical and soft skills sought by employers. Additional information is available in the Position Profile.
Responsibilities include teaching various undergraduate courses, assisting with student recruitment, fundraising, and cultivating industry connections. The Director will also coordinate the Engineering Advisory Board and guide the program through its next ABET review in 2027.
Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field. Applicants with a master's degree and relevant experience may be considered. The ideal candidate will have teaching experience, a background in liberal arts education, and industry experience.
Candidates should be committed to teaching at a college emphasizing broad liberal arts education and prepared to develop research opportunities for undergraduate engineering majors.
