All about the Role
As part of our new Family hubs programme, you will work closely with children aged 0-11 years and their families. This includes working with parents of Special Education Needs (SEN) children.
You will work on a one to one and group basis, to support the development of children in the home learning environment. Planning and implementing a variety of activities with children and working with their parents to provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care in developing skills of play.
You will be patient, understanding and most importantly be consistent to children and their families referred into our service.
As well as delivering interventions within the family home you will work alongside the Play Champion to deliver workshops.
This is a one year fixed term contract.
All about The Family hubs programme
The family hubs programme provides support to families with children aged 0-19 or up to 25 if SEND, the programme aims to give every child the best start to life and focuses primarily on the delivery of services from conception to primary school, and includes collaboration with services that work with families with older children up until adulthood.

You will have:
* Sound knowledge and understanding of child development, and knowledge of parenting skills.
* Sound knowledge of PCC’s safeguarding procedures.
* Sound knowledge of child development for 0-11 year olds including the EYFS.
* Sound knowledge of the Playwork principles.
* Understanding of the impact of inequality and deprivation on outcomes.
* Understanding of equality and diversity principles.
* Knowledge of special educational needs & disability.
* Knowledge and understanding of policy and practice developments relevant to children and young people in line with Children’s Service.
* Level 3 Diploma (or equivalent) in Play work or a relevant field, or evidence of relevant and substantial experience.
