Planning - Shaping Tomorrow's Communities Today
Come and lead one of the largest Planning Enforcement teams in the country. Recent investment has expanded the operation, making it an exciting time to shape the service for the future.
Our Planning Service is at the heart of Wiltshire's growth and development. We ensure that every decision we make promotes high-quality place-shaping, guided by policy and best practices in urban design. As a statutory and regulatory service, we're responsible for delivering housing and employment in line with our adopted Local Plan.
As a Planning Manager for our Enforcement Team, you will oversee a team of professional officers ensuring that planning regulations are upheld and breaches are handled efficiently. Reporting to the Head of Development Management, you'll play a crucial role in protecting Wiltshire’s historic and natural environments while supporting sustainable development in line with the local plan.
This role involves investigating and resolving complex and often sensitive planning issues. You'll ensure fair and balanced outcomes, manage workloads, allocate resources, and guide your team through challenging cases. Your leadership will drive the success of the planning enforcement service, and your decision-making will help resolve unauthorized developments responsibly.
We’re looking for someone with strong experience in planning, preferably within local government, who understands the complexities of planning policy and enforcement. You'll need excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work under pressure and navigate politically sensitive situations.
If you have the experience, leadership skills, and passion to help shape Wiltshire’s future, we want to hear from you.
