Construction Assistant Design Manager / Design Manager
Location: Bristol
Are you an Assistant Design Manager / Design Manager with experience in delivering commercial new builds, refurbishments, or residential developments? Do you enjoy working on schemes up to GBP50M+? Do you want to work for a fantastic company with amazing progression routes? If so, an exciting role has opened up at one of our leading clients based in the heart of Bristol.
Responsibilities
1. Understand client requirements/output specifications.
2. Ensure pricing assumptions are consistent with the development of the design with the Pre-Construction Manager.
3. Monitor design progress and ensure the accuracy and completeness of design variables at each stage of the design development process (ITN Phase / PB Phase / Construction Phase).
4. Ensure that all resources for coordination are appointed.
5. Prepare monthly reports to Design Leads.
6. Responsible for design compliance, buildability, efficiency of design, and supporting the bid process.
7. Lead the sign-off of documents to the correct status.
8. Prepare and validate the Design Management Plan (DMP).
9. Prepare the Project's Document Management Procedure in accordance with TEC.CMP.05.
10. Endorse Consultants' DMPs.
11. Define consultant values and authorize appointed consultants' payments.
12. Define designers' objectives: time, details, ratios, coordination, etc.
13. Manage the flow of design information and Document Control.
14. Support the procurement and commercial teams.
15. Represent the company at Client/User/Local Authority and other stakeholder meetings.
16. Coordinate the input from the Technical Department necessary to develop a robust design.
17. Manage the Environmental Certification Process (i.e., BREEAM / CFSH).
18. Manage (preconstruction) or participate (construction) in the Design Transfer from preconstruction to construction.
