Job summary We are looking to appoint health care assistants who are enthusiastic, motivated with a passion for caring to join our dedicated Team in Community Urgent Care. This role includes the following duties: To call in and prepare patients for assessment by clinical staff. To undertake preparations for, and deliver specific treatments and therapies as directed, Application of back slab, removal of Plaster of Paris, Splinting Wound management Physical observations Visual acuity Providing crutches To be undertake the recording of observations for blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, respiratory rate and oxygen saturation. To perform basic life support and give assistance to clinicians during advanced life support techniques. To obtain specimens including urine, sputum, blood and stools and carry out near patient testing directed. To undertake irrigation of eyes as directed by the clinician. To undertake venepuncture. To undertake ECG recording and attachment of patient to cardiac monitor. To administer oral medication as directed by clinician, including preparation and administration of nebulisers. To support the clinicians during complex clinical procedures. To undertake peak flow recordings and document appropriately. To prepare and run outpatient where orthopaedic fracture clinics for Consultant and or Registrars, including removing and replacing back slab and full cast plasters. To include reception duties as required.
