Reference: 926ff1bc Personal assistant required for lively and cheeky 12 year old boy with complex needs. After contracting meningitis as a baby, the young person needs assistance with personal care, forming positive relationships and access the community. You will be working alongside the family and other employees to provide 2-2-1 care. The role is for 18 hours per week term time on 3 evenings a week (Weekdays 4pm - 10pm) Occasional weekend and school holiday hours available. Days and times to be discussed. £12.60 per hour. The ideal candidate will have an empathetic and compassionate nature and have the ability to work with positive behavioral support plans. As well as experience and understanding of supporting a young person with complex needs. The ideal candidate will be a self motivated and dynamic individual with good communication skills and the ability to be/ have fun. The role would be perfect for somebody who is interested in supporting a child with complex needs and providing personalised support. It would be an advantage if the applicant has an interest in providing complex care with a multidisciplinary approach as you will be working with multiple agencies such as weekly occupational physio, speech & language therapist. This is an extremely rewarding role and you will be able to see how the support and implementation of your care-giving enables the young person to thrive. The role will be based within the family home where the child has younger siblings and pets. The ideal applicant will be sensitive and understanding to the family dynamics. Car owner preferred but not essential, PA must however have a full, clean UK driving licence. Promoting safety in the community and danger awareness is important. Role subject to an Enhanced DBS check and references.
