At Orbia Building & Infrastructure (Wavin), we advance life around the world by building healthy, sustainable environments. We are currently looking for a Production Team Leader - Moulding to join us at Chippenham.
The role
* Ensure full presence on the shopfloor for constant monitoring and policing of the shift.
* Standard Cycle Times to target.
* Complete and record daily/shift quality checks.
* Performance to work to list.
* Shift Operator activities to target.
* Ensure department visual management is populated in a timely and accurate manner.
* Ownership of all department communication tools (Machine Boards, Level 1 and 6S).
* Exceptions reported to the departmental Supervisor.
* Ensure a high level of all cross-shift communications.
* Adherence of direct reports & the department to level II responsibilities.
* All accidents fully investigated, and paperwork completed in timely manner.
* All non-conforming incidents reported, and relevant paperwork completed with shift team members.
* Behavioural & safety audits completed to plan.
* Ensure that all team members complete a minimum of one Peer to Peer audit per month.
* Ensure all production and process recording systems are completed accurately.
* Ensure that issues are being highlighted and progressed to resolution with appropriate support function.
* All production figures are captured accurately as required – SAP booking accuracy.
* Attendance and participation demonstrated in site improvement teams.
* Departmental teams fully involved with improvement process and delivering improvements.
* Regularly keep team informed of performance against planned outputs.
* Identify training requirements to departmental Supervisor.
* When required complete all absence reporting paperwork and conduct RTW interviews with team members.
* Use capability, attendance and disciplinary procedures when required to manage non-conformance within shift team.
The profile
* General secondary education.
* ILM Level 3 qualification (preferred).
* IOSH Managing Safely.
* Must be able to demonstrate the ability to lead and support.
* Must be able to demonstrate a flexible management style.
* Must be able to plan and organise activities of self and team, to achieve balance of proactive and reactive tasks.
* Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
* Have an overview of the moulding processes or similar production environment.
* Good communication skills.
* Practical experience of the moulding process.
* Practical experience of medium batch production process.
* Previous SAP experience.
