As a result of an internal promotion, we now have an exciting new opportunity to recruit a Manufacturing Manager to be based at our UK flagship plant in Havant, Hampshire (PO9 2NB). As Manufacturing Manager you’ll play a significant role in the leadership of the plant, and take responsibility for a variety of functions including Milling, Turning, Assembly and Maintenance, deploying your outstanding people skills with strong technical, manufacturing, commercial and general business expertise to ensure our business delivers successfully for our customers, whilst continuing to drive the application of world class manufacturing principles across the manufacturing operations in Havant. Job Responsibilities The successful Manufacturing Manager will hold responsibility for: • Responsibility for operations SQDC – (Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost). • Plan, select, appraise and train personnel towards a multi-functional and flexible business environment. • Drive continuous improvements through DBS (Danfoss Business System). • Provide a safe working environment by providing tools and equipment that comply with all legal and Danfoss requirements. • Develop and monitor value streams and individual goals and objectives to improve plant performance. • Provide the atmosphere, leadership, innovation and working environment to support actions in the workplace that reduces cost of manufacture and increase factory throughput / efficiency. • Provide leadership and direction in the development, maintenance and improvement of processes to meet the needs of all stakeholders, Customers, Employees, Suppliers, our environment and community. This process should be in support and aligned with any internal or external standards i.e., ISO 14001. • Administer necessary controls to ensure effective management of direct expenses and capital budgets • Coordinate projects and production programs in support of divisional and plant objectives. • Maintain a high morale level within all departments and maintain a work environment in accordance with Danfoss Philosophy & Work Practices • Maintain a diverse culture ensuring high ethical standards at all times • Support the generation of the five-year manufacturing strategy aimed at achieving the manufacturing cost and volume targets. • Responsible for capacity planning and manufacturing resource planning. • Responsible for Maintenance and Facilities teams (currently outsourced), and associated budgets. Background & Skills The successful Manufacturing Manager will demonstrate: • Degree qualification or similar in Engineering or related discipline (Preferred) • Demonstratable leadership skills with managerial experience. • Experience of precision manufacturing processes combined with relevant technical expertise and experience. • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques with the necessary skills to act as a driver for change, integrating best practice throughout manufacturing operations. • Excellent communication, people management, development and mentoring skills. • Be able to create and support a team environment. • Demonstrate strategic planning, business acumen, customer and commercial awareness skills.
