UWCSEA Dover Campus is looking for an IT Support Officer for a Maternity Cover, to join from January 2025 to May 2025.
Reporting to the Learning Technologies Team Lead and Head of IT Infrastructure, the IT Support Officer (Learning Technologies Support Officer) is responsible for assisting the Head of IT Infrastructure, Deputy Head of IT Infrastructure, Learning Technologies Team Lead in providing front line ICT support for all users by providing technical support and troubleshooting for all aspects of computer hardware, network and software.
Main Responsibilities
* First and second level (tier) support of all digital learning devices including: desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices and cameras.
* First level application support for common applications.
* To be personable, approachable and proactive in their assistance to all staff and students.
* To record and escalate support issues as necessary to ensure a timely resolution to issues.
* First level support and administering of Video Conferencing Systems (Zoom, Polycom), and Telephony systems (VOIP).
* To keep abreast of developments in College digital learning devices to ensure a competent level of support.
* Assist with any other duties, tasks or jobs with similar levels of responsibility and complexity to the assigned job grade as may be reasonably requested by the line manager and/or the College.
Person Specifications
* A NITEC or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering or a related subject is desirable. Candidates without a computer science NITEC but possess at least 2 years of experience in ICT support are encouraged to apply.
* A recognised qualification on Information Infrastructure Library (ITIL) or equivalent.
* Other relevant professional qualifications related to specific technologies.
* At least 1 year of relevant experience, with good knowledge on ICT devices support and troubleshooting.
The IT Support Officer will have recent and proven experience in the following:
* Basic troubleshooting skill on ICT devices.
The IT Support Officer will have the following general skills and qualities:
* A self-initiated and proactive team player who can work with minimal supervision.
* Problem solver and able to communicate with people of different levels.
* Able to work independently and flexibly on support tasks within a team-oriented environment.
* Analytical and possess good troubleshooting skills.
* Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Be resilient, patient and proactive in providing support.
