Our client, a pioneer in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Senior Combat Systems Engineer to work on submarine programmes.
Key skills required for this role
Strong knowledge of naval combat systems ideally in above water systems.
This position presents an exciting opportunity to support the development and acceptance activities for cutting-edge Integrated Combat System technology, including the Dreadnought class submarine.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead Engineer for AWS System Engineering requirements and acceptance.
2. Authoring AWS Requirements Specifications and Subsystem Technical Specifications.
3. Participation in trade studies, including defining key performance requirements.
4. Planning and supporting Verification and Validation activities both with Suppliers and at Combat System Integration facilities.
5. Preparing evidence for Customer Acceptance.
6. Providing regular updates on project status/progress in accordance with project-specific reporting cycles.
7. Contributing to rapid closure of issues emerging from all product lifecycle stages and managing the resulting change embodiment activities.
8. Accessing, understanding, and applying Quality and HS&E Management System documentation applicable to your work scope and adhering to all HS&E rules and control measures.
Job Requirements:
1. Significant Systems Engineering knowledge and experience.
2. Degree qualified or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
3. Experience of requirements management in DOORS.
4. Broad knowledge and experience of the System Engineering Lifecycle.
5. Experience of the military or maritime domain.
