Our client is looking for individuals to help build the largest Electric Arc Furnace in the world. This high-profile, £1 billion megaproject will significantly impact the economy, the environment, and society, representing a transformative step towards a green, decarbonised future.
Role Purpose:
To manage, lead and direct a multi-discipline Project Engineering & Technology department/team to meet agreed targets in the implementation of the business Capital and Revenue Programme. Provide specialist multi-discipline engineering support to achieve the policies and project objectives of the Hub or business unit.
Accountabilities:
1. Manage, lead and direct a multi-discipline Project Engineering & Technology department or team to meet agreed targets in the implementation of the Capital and Revenue Programme or major project. Communicate issues and progress to relevant levels of the organisation.
2. Participate in, and lead where appropriate, companywide engineering developments and corporate knowledge sharing as required.
3. Ensure all relevant Safety and Environmental legislation, procedures, standards, behaviours and performance targets are applied to the Business Support Programmes.
4. Lead organisation and job design processes for the department/major project, ensuring department size and capability mix are optimised for successful delivery.
5. Plan, manage and control ongoing professional engineering processes and activities, ensuring a full understanding of business risk and priorities.
6. Liaise with relevant Engineering & Operations Managers and other key stakeholders to ensure necessary support is given to their area of responsibility.
7. Manage assigned capital & revenue budgets and direct, lead, coach, develop and motivate employees.
8. Monitor and report key performance indicators for department and capital expenditure project/programme performance.
9. Ensure effective process governance, overseeing the design of modifications and improvements to processes.
10. Develop, approve, implement and monitor project documentation to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
Context:
Job holders interact regularly with all levels within the organisation and are required to represent the business externally. The role involves management responsibility for multiple teams and major strategic projects exceeding £75m.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Masters Degree
