Transport for London (TfL) Engineers are always looking forward. Join us in one of our Central Engineering, Transport System Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering teams and, as well as maintaining legacy assets, you’ll deliver new systems and solutions. This is about connecting communities and creating opportunities, so we’re ready for the 21st century and beyond.
Day-to-day, you will undertake the specification and delivery of Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) activities to achieve the operational and business requirements of TfL engineering programmes (including legacy assets) across all phases of the lifecycle, including assessment and development of project scope through to service introduction and beyond.
You will lead a variety of RAM analysis activities for our complex engineering projects, as well as maintain and implement programme RAM procedures, processes, and tools to support the corporate engineering and project management processes.
You will also lead on developing pragmatic plans and schedules for RAM system integration activity that meet programme delivery requirements while balancing technical risk and schedule. Contribute to the continuous improvement of RAM processes, tools, and methodologies.
You will establish RAM targets that are appropriate for the business and operational demands, and you will deliver RAM analysis, predictions, and reports at the programme and project levels according to the established schedule and quality level. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute RAM strategies and recommendations throughout the project's lifecycle.
As a Senior RAM Engineer, you will have an in-depth knowledge of the 5012x set of EN standards and be familiar with RAM standards from other sectors. You will be able to describe the mix of asset and non-asset causes of unavailability in the transport system, as well as use theoretical and practical data analysis to develop RAM performance requirements. You will also be able to demonstrate how RAM targets have been distributed across subsystems and reapportioned as projects progress.
You will have significant experience in leading and chairing RAM meetings with key stakeholders and suppliers as well as performing Root Cause Analysis, conducting failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), operational focused reliability growth planning and managing FRACAS processes within delivery programmes.
Key experience with the current delivery assignments of TfL's RAM Engineering team, including 4LM, PLU, DLR, and RfLI, is essential.
You will provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers on RAM principles and best practices.
