Residential Youth Worker Supported Accommodation - asylum seeking young people

Salary: £11,992.50 per annum

A fulfilling and exciting opportunity available for a residential support worker post in our new Alfreton service.

Purpose of the role
* This role is a key member of the team, providing assistance and guidance to 10 unaccompanied asylum seeking young people within a 24 hour supported accommodation setting.
* The post holder will be responsible for developing and delivering nurturing person centred support that is bespoke to suit the needs of each individual accessing the service.
* The support should assist residents in developing the skills required to settle in to a new area, overcome barriers and learn skills towards independence.
* Some young people may have experienced significant trauma in their home country and on their journey to the UK.
* The post holder must be empathetic, knowledgeable and professional in understanding the specific needs of asylum seeking adolescents transitioning into adulthood.
* Speakers of other languages would be an advantage (especially Arabic) but not essential.
* You will be expected to contribute to the maintenance and development of the Associations values, culture and ethos.
