Position Summary: The Director of Finance (DF) is a key role in our entrepreneurial, fast-growing company where we are making a positive impact on patients’ lives every day. The DF leads and manages all accounting and finance activities from payroll and payables to shareholder communications, budgeting and financial reporting. The DF will also play a key role in company financing. The ideal candidate is someone who’s had significant accounting and finance experience in a small, commercial-stage company. The specific roles and responsibilities include those listed below. Duties and Responsibilities : Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and implement comprehensive financial models and plans, including budgeting, forecasting, and capital expenditure strategies; Communicate effectively and evaluate financial models and budgets with management and the Board; Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks; and Prepare regular financial reports and presentations for senior management and for the Board. Financial Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger management; Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements; Monitor cash flow and working capital to maintain optimal liquidity; and Work with tax accountants to develop tax strategies, produce tax reports and submit to state and federal agencies in a timely manner. Strategic Financial Leadership: Advise senior leadership and Board on financial implications of strategic decisions, including equity and debt financing, M&A, and new business ventures; Collaborate with company leaders to ensure optimal spending/investment decisions, aiming toward maximizing profitability; Help identify and implement cost-saving opportunities; and Collaborate with commercial team to evaluate product pricing and financing scenarios. Team Management and Development: Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team; Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and excellence within the finance/accounting team. Investor Communications: Collaborate with CEO to manage investor communications; Lead due diligence planning and execution for potential new investors.
