Theatre Scrub/Recovery Practitioner

Croydon University Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic, caring and motivated individual to join the Theatre Team as a Theatre Practitioner .
We are interested in candidates with some Theatre scrub experience, able to demonstrate a commitment to developing yourself and support other colleagues in various specialty. You will act as a role model for others, promoting best practice and delivery of high quality, patient centered care.
You will be rotated through the different specialties, including Emergency theatres, learning to become an expert in the patient care; team leading intraoperative /scrubbing and making sure the patient's pathway is maintained throughout .

The successful candidates will be part of the clinical team, who ensure that clinical care of the patients, and others service users, receive an efficient/effective quality of care.
Within this role you will be expected to work across both the Croydon Elective & Emergency Surgical Centre.
The Role Responsibilities' Will Be:
• Prepare the Clinical area (theatres) to receive patients for surgical procedures.
• Provide assistance in clinical area for immediate post -operative care when the need arises .
• Assist in the positioning / preparation of the patient as directed by the surgical team.
• Ensure that any specimens are correctly labelled and dispatched to the lab in the correct box provided .
• Ensure all patient information is well documented on the IT system and everything is logged accurately on the correct system in accordance with Trust and departmental policy and procedure .
• Ensuring infection control policy is adhered to.
