Job Title: Medical Data Manager.
Location: Oxford, Hybrid.
Reporting to: Head of Artificial Intelligence.
Contract Type: Permanent, full-time.
Salary: £37,000 (mid) or £49,000 (senior) depending on level of experience.

Role Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Medical Data Manager to manage, augment, and harmonize medical data for Akrivia Health. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in Python, SQL, and data science, combined with a keen understanding of data management in the medical or healthcare domain. This role is critical in ensuring our data is accurate, reliable, and optimized for decision-making processes and research initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Data Management and Integration: Collect, clean, and organize medical data from diverse sources, ensuring it is accurate and up to date.
· Data Harmonization: Standardize and harmonize data formats, coding systems, and structures to facilitate interoperability and consistency across datasets.
· Database Development and Maintenance: Design, implement, and maintain robust databases for storing and retrieving medical data efficiently.
· Data Analysis and Augmentation: Use Python and data science techniques to analyze and enhance data quality and usability. Identify gaps and implement augmentation strategies.
· ETL Pipelines: Develop and manage Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes for seamless data workflows.
· Collaboration: Work closely with clinicians, researchers, and IT teams to understand data needs and ensure solutions align with organizational goals.
· Compliance: Ensure all data activities adhere to regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, GDPR, and other relevant standards.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
Technical Skills:
· Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and analysis (e.g., pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn).
· Strong SQL skills for querying and managing relational databases.
· Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib).
· Familiarity with cloud platforms and tools (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
Domain knowledge:
· Understanding of medical coding systems (e.g., ICD, SNOMED), electronic health records (EHR), and healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR).
Soft Skills:
· Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Desirable
· Experience with machine learning techniques and frameworks.
· Knowledge of statistical analysis and modelling.
· Familiarity with regulatory compliance in medical data management.
