About the Role
As a Teacher of Food Technology, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and practical lessons to students in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. In this role, you will be expected to plan and deliver the Food Technology curriculum with a focus on developing the students cooking, nutrition, food safety and food science skills. You will work collaboratively with the Design and Technology department to inspire creativity and innovation. This part-time position is ideal for a dedicated professional seeking a fulfilling role in a school. The role will be 2 days per week, Monday and Thursday. It will commence on the 20th January and will initially be until February half term, with the potential to extend after that.

Position Details
* Location: Leeds
* Contract: Part time role (Monday and Thursday)
* Pay Rate: £150 - £223 per day (UPS rates will be considered)
Essential Requirements
* QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
* Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for Food Technology.
* An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

* Strong subject knowledge in Food Technology, nutrition and food safety.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Effective time management and organisational skills.
* Competence in using digital tools to enhance learning.
* Teamwork and collaboration with colleagues.

Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver creative and engaging Food Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum.
* Manage classroom resources, including equipment and ingredients.
* Teach students practical skills such as food preparation, cooking techniques and presentation.
* Foster an understanding of nutrition, diet and food safety.
* Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
* Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and verbal feedback during lessons.
* Prepare students for assessments and coursework, ensuring high standards.
* Maintain a safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and resources.
* Inspire and motivate students to engage with the lessons and achieve their highest potential.
