What we are looking for We are looking for a Technical Support Officer to join our busy administrative team in Development Management, Heritage and Planning Enforcement. The successful person will share our values, commitment, and motivation to make a difference for our residents, clients, and communities. About the role The main functions of this role are as follows: To be the first point of contact by telephone and email for general planning, heritage, and enforcement enquiries. To provide technical support for the Area Planning Teams, Strategic Team, Heritage and Enforcement Teams including Area Team Managers. Inputting, retrieval, and maintenance of data via Uniform and the associated Document Management System (DMS). Providing information and advice to external and internal customers including councillors and Parish Councils. Uploading and labelling documents in our Document Management System. Redacting any sensitive information as required under GDPR. General day to day administrative tasks to assist the teams, including telephone and email management. The role is not limited to the above and you may be asked to assist in other tasks as and when they arise. About you You will need to be accurate and methodical in your approach with an ability to work both on your own and as part of a team. With excellent IT skills you will regularly use a variety of software to input data and research information. Attention to detail is a priority, good keyboard skills and previous experience of working within an office and/or customer service environment is essential. Our ideal candidate will be flexible, enthusiastic, pro-active and have a willingness to take ownership of tasks and will also be prepared to pick up work outside of their own specialism or comfort zone to help in emergencies or provide backfill for others.
