Medical Secretary to Paediatric Psychology Service & CFS
We are recruiting for a Medical Secretary who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
You will be responsible for providing administrative support to 1 consultant and a clinical nurse specialist, which includes booking clinics, cashing up clinics, and typing up letters.
You will be the first point of contact for GPs, consultant colleagues, nursing, admin and other hospital staff, patients, relatives, and outside agencies. You will provide professional and efficient secretarial and administrative support to the consultants and medical team.
You should have a sound knowledge of medical terminology, the ability to work without direct supervision, and the capability to prioritise and manage workloads.

Main duties of the job
The Medical Secretary will be responsible for the admin and support for the service.
You will have sufficient knowledge of Microsoft packages, the ability to manage short turnaround deadlines, and possess good verbal and written communication skills.
You will be the first point of contact and communication for General Practitioners, consultant colleagues, nursing staff, administrative and other hospital staff, patients, relatives, and outside agencies.
To help organise division-specific clinics and liaise with outside agencies to achieve this.

Qualifications/Training
* RSA 3 or equivalent
* AMSPAR or equivalent
Previous Experience
* Demonstrable secretarial and administrative experience
* Managing appointments and diaries
* Handling telephone enquiries
* NHS experience
* Recent medical secretary experience
