Job Description
You support the Plant Controller in monitoring and driving the financial performance of the plant within the strategic lines defined by the BU.
You are responsible for the monthly closing and financial reporting of our plant in Treforest. This includes:
1. Responsible and accountable for the accurate application of accounting principles (local and group). Managing the financial system in the plant, keeping the ERP system in line with business requirements
2. All month end journals, accruals and prepayment schedules
3. Monitoring assets under construction and responsible for timely capitalization of assets
4. Technical close in SAP
5. Upload monthly accounts (P&L / balance sheet), and additional KPIs for group consolidation team
6. Balance sheet reconciliations
7. Verify and align intercompany balances with management accountants of other plants
8. Monthly VAT returns and Office for National Statistics surveys
9. Preparation of year end statutory accounts and tax pack
10. As a SPOC for external auditors, you provide them with all requested information
You are the SPOC for the management reporting on site:
11. You build, implement and execute management reporting in line with plant and business unit requirements
12. Monthly review and analysis of all plant costs & KPIs with the relevant stakeholders
13. Support in the validation/analysis of actual monthly results reported to the BU and Group, investigate and resolve anomalies and unusual trends
14. Managing, reviewing and monitoring the cost accounting process to control current and future operations
15. Together with the plant controller, you drive the implementation and usage of our BI-tool
You assist in the quarterly forecasting and yearly budgeting process:
16. Preparation of cost center, payroll and maintenance forecasts and budget
17. Challenging the assumptions/targets used in the budget and forecasting process
18. Upload of accounts and operational KPIs for group consolidation team
Other responsibilities include:
19. Support the plant controller in reviewing requests for investments
20. Support the plant controller in driving digitalization & continuous improvement initiatives over the whole site
21. Assisting in the implementation of a control environment that ensures the mitigation of financial and business risks (errors, misuse of assets, fraud, ...);
22. Ensuring internal audit findings are properly and timely addressed
23. Management of our vendor master data, ensuring all checks have been carried out to avoid fraud instances
24. Provide weekly FOREX data to Group treasury department
25. You support our Group consolidation, tax, risk and legal departments by providing the necessary information so they can manage the relationship with authorities / statutory auditors
26. Ensuring full compliance with group and business unit policies and internal control procedures
Qualifications
27. You will hold a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Accounting or Finance or a related field of study with applicable experience;
28. You are CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified;
29. You have minimum 2 years of relevant experience, experience in one of the Big 4 is advantageous;
30. You are flexible, open-minded and able to work in a team as well as independently;
31. You love to make in-depth A-Z analyses in a complex environment;
32. You have good communication skills;
33. You have excellent knowledge of IT tools, including Microsoft Excel. Experience with SAP, Hyperion Financial Management and/or Power BI is a plus;
