Are you a detail-oriented and proactive Supplier Quality Engineer looking to make a significant impact in a dynamic and innovative environment? We are seeking a talented individual to join our team and support the development of both new and existing suppliers to meet our strategic and tactical business requirements.
Job Purpose: As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will work closely with the supply chain, quality, planning, engineering, and programme functions to forge effective relationships internally and within the external supply chain. Your role will be key in ensuring supplier conformance and meeting delivery, quality, cost, HSE, and regulatory requirements.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
* Own supplier rate readiness, production part approval process (PPAP), business continuity, and ESG audits and assessments.
* Conduct source inspections and supplier quality audits/assessments, reviewing corrective action progress and conducting product acceptance.
* Manage supplier non-conformances with defect investigations and comprehensive root cause analysis.
* Ensure effective and validated supplier corrective actions to prevent future issues.
* Provide supplier non-conformance data analysis and summary reports to senior management.
* Identify supply chain quality issues/risks and offer potential mitigation solutions.
* Monitor supplier KPI performance and ensure robust process controls for continuous compliance.
* Lead supplier improvement activities, including development plans, systematic problem solving, and process control.
* Assist in new business biddings, NPI, product transfer, and change management.
* Support supplier selection through robust qualification processes and validation audits.
Qualification, Experience, and Skills:
Essential:
* Relevant engineering degree preferred.
* Minimum 5 years of supplier quality management experience.
* Proven experience in supplier audit & assessment, development, and management.
* Strong knowledge of aerospace products, manufacturing processes, technologies, standards, and regulations.
* Proficiency in PPAP, FMEA, root cause analysis, production rate readiness, and continuous improvement.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to present data effectively.
* Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
* High integrity standards, self-starter, and willingness to learn and develop.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Travel is essential (around 60%), with potential overnight stays.
* Driving license required.
Desirable:
* Experience in the aerospace or automotive industry.
* Knowledge of business management systems, ERP, and Microsoft Office.
* Lean/Six Sigma improvement techniques.
* Project management skills.
