We're looking to add a global brand strategist to our team. If you're passionate about travel, making connections, working with others, and providing a world-class experience for our customers, you might be perfect for our team. This Manager role will lead and oversee the development and evolution of our Global Brand Strategy for American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT).
As the Brand Strategy Manager, this role will be responsible for leading the development of our overarching brand strategy and ensuring that the brand’s positioning, messaging, and visual identity resonate with our target audiences. Reporting to the Director of Brand Management and Transformation, this person will play a pivotal role in aligning cross-functional teams around the brand’s purpose and vision, crafting a strong and cohesive brand identity, and supporting its execution across global markets.
The ideal candidate is a balanced and dynamic professional who brings expertise in both global brand strategy development and the creation of consistent and compelling brand identities. They have honed their craft at brand-led or product-focused organizations, preferably within tech or travel industries, and thrive at the intersection of strategy and creativity.
What You’ll Do:
1. Lead the development of our brand strategy, including positioning, value proposition, and brand expression.
2. Synthesize market research and audience insights to inform strategic decision-making.
3. Oversee the creation and evolution of the brand’s visual identity guidelines, partnering with in-house creative teams, Brand Management, and Governance, to ensure consistency across all touchpoints.
4. Partner with creative agencies and internal design teams to develop high-impact brand assets.
5. Work with cross-functional teams across Global Marketing & Communications as well as Commercial, General Counsel's Office, and broader enterprise-wide functions to plan and implement brand initiatives.
6. Craft clear, compelling, and cohesive brand messaging frameworks.
7. Collaborate with marketing and comms teams to ensure messaging aligns with audience needs and reinforces the brand’s story.
8. Act as the brand steward, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned with and understand the brand strategy.
9. Collaborate with Brand Management to support global teams with Brand Strategy guidelines and tools.
10. Establish KPIs for measuring brand success and track brand health metrics.

What We’re Looking For:
1. 5+ years brand strategy experience with high-profile brands.
2. Has a data-driven mindset and is experienced in building purpose-driven strategies, based on customer insights, trends, and market research, that translate into actionable plans and brand expression guidelines for stakeholders.
3. Analytical expertise with a sharp ability to synthesize market and customer data.
4. Exceptional planning and storytelling skills, using both data and creativity to bring the brand’s vision to life.
5. A proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively, fostering collaboration across diverse teams, agencies, and stakeholders.
6. Independent and self-driven, with a team-player mindset to take ownership of projects and deliver results.
7. Comfortable with ambiguity and the ability to quickly adapt to change, consistently finding clarity and solutions in a fast-paced work environment.
8. Multitasker who can manage multiple initiatives in parallel with a high level of quality and consistency.
9. International experience and working with remote teams and time zones is a plus.
