If you do drive, you must always hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for use at work, as well as provide all the appropriate documentation. The Archives service is a key element of this, as a TNA accredited place of deposit. In addition to running Manchester Archives, we operate the Greater Manchester County Record office on behalf of the 10 Local Authorities in Greater Manchester. We also work in partnership with the Archives partners based at Manchester Central Library. We have an exciting opportunity - as Archive Officer you will be a key member of Manchester Archives. We have a range of fascinating Archives collections of local, regional, national and international significance, and you will be part of a team responsible for these and maximising their potential. You will also work with colleagues in the library service and Archives partners to ensure the collections are used for the benefit of customers, including through a range of diverse activities and events. Part of the role will be delivering the search room service at Manchester Central Library. About the Candidate The right candidate will be a qualified Archivist, with a proven track record of working with complex Archives collections and delivering excellent customer service. You will have an innovative customer focussed approach to work. You will also have the proven ability to work both independently and in a team, and have strong interpersonal skills.
