The Role – Finance Manager

Overall purpose and scope of the job

As a Finance Manager, you will be a senior figure in the business, reporting to the managing director, and responsible for managing the business's finances, building plans, forecasts and strategies to improve and expand the business.
Main duties and responsibilities:
* Good analysing and presenting skills of key financial data
* Manage new projects with various different departments, carrying out cost centre analysis to understand the feasibility
* Overseeing accounting procedures and preparing management accounts, cashflow forecasting, forecasts and budgets
* Producing management accounts including margin reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliations
* Producing monthly commentary across profit & loss account and balance sheet
* Analysing financial performance, reporting on variances
* Producing weekly cashflow, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
* Involvement in process improvement and implementation to streamline efficiencies
* Evaluating companies performance using key data, involvement in setting up new KPI's and processes
* Advising on problems and suggesting improvements to be actioned

This exciting role would suit an experienced Financial Controller or accountant with a strong ecommerce background.
* 2 years + experience in a similar role
* Either Qualified or Working Towards Becoming - AAT Level 4
* Experience in reporting, forecasting and budgeting essential
* Commercial understanding, of a fast-moving eCommerce business
* Proven experience implementing processes desirable
* Problem solver with strong attention to detail
* Excel experience – strong
* Good commercial aptitude
* Ability to work under pressure
* Strong organisation skills ensure you keep a comprehensive, trackable list of jobs and deadlines
* Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information and deliver effectively across all levels of a business
* Strong attention to detail, sense of urgency and adaptability under pressure
* Positive mind set and can-do attitude
* Ability to work independently, or as part of a group, to prioritise multiple concurrent projects, and meet deadlines with a high level of personal organisation
* An understanding of the life cycle of a product in a seasonally reactive business.
* Exceptional numeracy and analytical skills

Hours: 9am to 5:30pm - Mon-Fri - with some flexible working possible after an initial period
Salary: basic salary of up to £40,000 (depending on experience)
