Formed in 1986, MPB Industries is part of the SDI group of companies supplying process control instrumentation throughout the world to a varied client base.
We are seeking a skilled Financial Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all financial activities, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to the organisation.
Responsibilities:
* Responsibility for all financial accounting functions, including general ledger, sales/purchase ledger, and bank reconciliations. Payroll is outsourced.
* Prepare financial statements and reports.
* Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
* Preparation of budgeting and forecasting.
* Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions.
* Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
* Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
* Other ad hoc duties to support the Managing Director.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a small or medium-sized business.
* Proficient in Sage and Excel.
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
* Willingness and flexibility to support other departments where needed.
What we offer:
£ Negotiable pro rata
Permanent role 18-20 hours per week with the potential for more hours to support the sales/admin department when required.
