We are looking for a Site Manager to join one of our clients on their project in St Austell, Cornwall.

Duration: 6 months (with potential to extend)
Start Date: January 2025
Project Completion: October 2026 (excluding demolition)
The project is a commercial large build. The new buildings consist of insitu RC concrete frame construction with a mix of masonry and a built-up cladding system on an SFS frame, with curtain walling & windows, a bituminous flat roofing system and internal partitions and finishes.
You will be reporting to the Project Manager, and the role will include the following duties:
1. Follow the Construction Phase Plan (Project Management Plan), including all site procedures and practices and completing records and documentation.
2. Ensuring compliance with the health and safety Management Plan and Operating Procedures.
3. Ensuring construction environmental procedures are implemented on site.
4. Keeping a site diary including records of subcontractor attendance and progress.
5. Ensuring that appropriate quality records are being produced and monitored to verify that the works are being completed in accordance with the specified requirements.
6. Managing direct and subcontract labour and the keeping of records and allocation sheets.
7. Advising on buildability issues as required.
8. Setting up and monitor handover schedules, keys, spares and completion documentation.
About Yourself
You will demonstrate:
1. A broad construction-based technical experience.
2. A proven track record of supporting the construction and completion of similar projects on time and on budget.
3. A relevant Health & Safety qualification and be competent to carry out site management tasks they are directed to do.
4. Confidence in the use of IT packages and systems.
5. Self-motivation.
6. HNC/Degree, MCIOB or equivalent (S/NVQ level 5, 6 or 7) or a trades background.
