SEND Teaching Assistant – Melton Mowbray
Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Do you have experience working with primary-aged children and a genuine desire to help them succeed in their learning?
We are seeking dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to join a number of primary schools within the Mowbray Education Trust, all based in or around Melton Mowbray.
About the Role:
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with children with a range of SEND, helping them to engage with the curriculum and develop the skills they need to progress. You will support students both 1:1 and in small groups, ensuring they receive the attention and guidance necessary to succeed in their learning. Your role will be integral in creating an inclusive and supportive environment that fosters their academic and social development.
Key Responsibilities:
Support children with SEND in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
Work closely with the class teacher to implement tailored learning strategies.
Provide 1:1 and small group support to children, helping them to achieve their learning goals.
Create an inclusive classroom environment where all children feel supported.
Work with the SENDCO and other staff members to monitor and track pupils’ progress.

Experience working with children, preferably in a primary school setting.

Understanding of the challenges faced by children with additional needs.

A full enhanced DBS check (can be processed through Smile Education).
