Here at HMP Dovegate we have an exciting opportunity to join our education team as a Exams Administrator. Are you self-motivated and able to work independently? Do you have excellent organisational skills? This may be the role for you. You will, coordinate, administer, maintain and develop the examinations and quality assurance practices for the education and training department at HMP Dovegate. Completion of all, paperwork required meeting internal and external audit requirements.
Following the guidance issued by both the Awarding Body and the College with regard to assessment practice and the completion of documentation. Full compliance with the establishment’s Quality Assurance systems to ensure consistency and continuous improvement, liaising with appropriate staff to ensure that systems in support of assessment, verification and additional support are fully implemented.
Guiding and supporting assessors to ensure quality and consistency of assessment while undertaking staff development appropriate to the contractual requirements of the post and the needs of the provision.
The invigilation of exams is also a key role of this post, and as such involves prisoner contact. As the needs of the College change so the job profile, duties, and location of the role within the College may be adjusted accordingly.
Key Accountabilities
* Submission of monthly reports to management including but not limited to – Exam pass/fail rates for curriculum areas
* Attendance data and end of month figures with the relevant examination results within specific timescales.
* To verify assessment decisions and manage the quality of delivery to ensure criteria and guided learning hours are met.
* Co-ordinate the timely ordering of examination papers, registration, data recording and certification claims for learners.
* Ensure exam boxes are well maintained and appropriate for use. Work as part of the education team in an efficient and professional manner demonstrating a positive attitude to change and show flexibility in the workplace.
* To ensure a high level of security and confidentiality is maintained in relation to staff and prisoners, and that all information, both written and oral, is treated confidentially.
* Ensure you are aware of and work within the legislation of the Health and Safety at Work Act, with particular attention to the safe systems of work applicable to your area.
* To understand all relevant policies and procedures and provide help and support in all areas of the function as required by your line manager. Assist in other area(s) of the prison when instructed and directed by senior management. Adhere to the sickness reporting guidelines set out at induction. Undertake other duties as directed by senior management.
Qualifications:
Desirable:
Training, Assessment and Quality Assurance Level 3
Level 3 Award in Education and Training (Previously PTLLS)
Advanced ECDL/Computer Qualification in office-based applications.
Minimum:
ECDL/Computer Qualifications at Level 2
Grade C, Level 2 equivalent or above in Maths and English
Experience:
Have proven experience of working in an environment that demands strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Have demonstrated flexibility and the ability to work to deadlines and under pressure. ü To provide own solutions to problems.
Ability to work as a team member, forming excellent relationships.
Experience of a custodial environment would be an advantage.

* Keeping up to date with national developments in curriculum and awarding body, JCQ and Ofsted requirements
* Adhere to Data Protection and Security at all times.
* Completion of mandatory training.
* Excellent IT, written and oral communication skills
* Ability to lead meetings.
* An enthusiastic approach within a target orientated environment
