We are looking for an experienced HR professional to join a respected UK charity, providing essential HR support across recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and employee relations.
You will be based on site at their Reading office, reporting to the Head of HR.\n\nSalary £30k - £38k dependant on experience.\n\nHR Advisor - About the Role:\n\nAs HR Advisor, you will work closely with managers and employees, offering expert guidance on a range of HR matters. You will play a vital role in ensuring smooth recruitment processes, seamless onboarding, and accurate payroll data updates while supporting the wider HR team with generalist duties. You will also act as a trusted advisor to managers, providing confident and practical support on employee relations cases.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nManage end-to-end recruitment processes, including advertising roles, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews\nOversee onboarding, ensuring a positive experience for new starters\nMaintain and update payroll data, working closely with finance teams to ensure accuracy\nProvide first-line HR advice on policies, procedures, and best practices\nSupport and coach managers on employee relations matters, including absence management, performance issues, disciplinary and grievance cases\nSupport employee wellbeing initiatives and HR projects\nEnsure HR records are up to date and comply with UK employment law \n\nHR Advisor - About you:\n\nSolid experience as an HR Advisor or similar generalist HR role\nKnowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices is essential and ideally CIPD qualified or equivalent\nStrong recruitment and onboarding experience\nAbility to handle payroll updates with accuracy and attention to detail\nConfident in advising managers on employee relations issues, including case management\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills\nA team player who is proactive, organised, and passionate about making a difference \n\nWhat's in It for You?\n\nWork for a meaningful cause in a values-driven organisation\nCompetitive salary and benefits, including flexible working\nSupportive team culture and opportunities for career growth \n\nfor more information please get in touch with Jacqui Wall (phone number removed)\n\nAbout Us\n\nWe are dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive community.
