The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a compassionate and caring approach to patients, be well organized, well presented, practice excellent Infection prevention and Control, be flexible in their approach to work, be able to work effectively as part of a team, as well as using their own initiative and manage a team of Dental Nurses, as well as providing support to the Postgraduate students.
The Paediatric Dental Department is formed of a multidisciplinary team which provides a range of dental treatment to our patients, including supporting Postgraduate Dentists, DCT's, Registrars and The Special Care Team. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with a range of staff including consultants, specialist dentists, Hygiene/Therapy tutors and QMUL University.
Main duties of the job

Although this position is a 12 months fixed-term contract, the actual contract duration will be adjusted to account for the time taken to advertise the post, complete the hiring process, and finalise pre-employment checks. This means the contract will begin when the candidate starts the role and may be slightly shorter than 12 months.

Qualifications
Essential
* NEBDN and/or an appropriate professional qualification or equivalent
* General Dental Council registration
* Ability to deputise for the Lead Dental Nurse
* Registered as a witness on the NEBDN Diploma in Dental Nursing programme (or be working towards this)

* Post Qualification Certificate
* Experience of working in OMFS/Oral Surgery & Oral Medicine

* Minimum of 3 years' working as a Band 5 senior dental similar NHS setting
* Ability to work as part of a team with a professional approach towards work and colleagues. Evidence of knowledge and experience of HR processes and policies
