Quantity Surveyor - OUTSIDE IR35 Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor with extensive experience in major infrastructure projects to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of large-scale civil engineering projects across the UK. Key Responsibilities Cost Management : Prepare, monitor, and manage budgets to ensure projects are delivered within financial constraints. Procurement : Manage tender processes, prepare procurement strategies, and evaluate contractor and supplier bids. Contract Administration : Administer standard forms of contract (e.g., NEC, JCT, or bespoke forms) including managing variations, claims, and payments. Financial Reporting : Prepare and present accurate cost/value reconciliations, forecasts, and reports to stakeholders. Risk Management : Identify, evaluate, and mitigate commercial risks associated with major infrastructure projects. Stakeholder Engagement : Work closely with project managers, design teams, and contractors to ensure seamless collaboration and alignment with project goals. Compliance : Ensure adherence to relevant statutory regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Project Performance : Monitor project progress and provide input on strategies to optimize delivery timelines and budgets. Essential Qualifications and Experience Education : Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related field. Professional Membership : MRICS, or working towards chartered status with the RICS or similar recognized body is desireable. Experience : Minimum of 57 years of experience in quantity surveying. Demonstrated expertise in major infrastructure projects, including transportation, utilities, or large-scale civil engineering works or EPC projects. Contract Knowledge : Strong knowledge of NEC, JCT, or other major forms of contract. Technical Skills : Proficiency in cost management tools and software (e.g., CATO, CostX, or similar). Familiarity with Building Information Modelling (BIM) and digital construction practices is advantageous. Regulatory Knowledge : Awareness of UK construction laws, health & safety regulations, and sustainability practices. Key Competencies Analytical Thinking : Ability to analyze complex data and provide practical solutions. Attention to Detail : High level of accuracy in financial calculations and reporting.
