Duties and Responsibilities: Dealing with enquiries and requests from patients and visitors, face to face, on the telephone and through e mail and other electronic media. Registering new patients and updating patients' details using the computer system. Assist in the production of procedure notes and guidance information. Providing general clerical and administrative support to doctors, nurses and practice manager as required. Ensure communication systems are running smoothly, doctors and reception staff are kept fully informed of changes in procedures. Monitor Patch's, SystemOne and other IT systems to ensure efficiencies. Monitor clinics and convert any unused appointments. Co-ordinate GP rotas and clinical room usage for Clinical staff, Trainee GPs/Medical Students and other staff members. Run regular and ad hoc reports and data searches to support audit, planning and monitoring. Continually assess and evaluate systems recommending changes and improvements to the practice manager as appropriate. Ensure all Practice Protocols and Standard Operating Procedures are understood and adhered to. Liaise with Practice Manager concerning staffing and organisation of work. Keeping public areas tidy and updating patient information i.e. posters/leaflets etc. To comply with the Practices Health and Safety at Work policies.
