Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineer on a permanent basis, located in West Midlands.
Role Summary
To design, specify and requisition in accordance with Industry, Client and Company standards the electrical equipment incorporated in proposals and projects in which the company participates.
Main Responsibilities
1. Fully understand project documentation, including client specifications, handover documents, company standards, and design notes.
2. Design the electrical scope of works per British Standards, company standards, and project specifications, while considering other engineering disciplines.
3. Document all variations and deviations from the project specifications.
4. Adhere to company quality procedures and work instructions.
5. Prepare detailed electrical drawings and specifications, coordinating with CAD operators, and ensure accuracy.
6. Manage equipment requisitions, assess technical quotations, and review purchase orders for accuracy.
7. Oversee and coordinate subcontractors providing control systems and participate in acceptance tests.
8. Inspect and test control panels, generators, and specialist electrical equipment.
9. If required, monitor site electrical works to ensure they meet specifications, schedules, and budgets; assist with site testing and commissioning.
10. Manage manpower resources efficiently to meet project budgets and timelines.
11. Communicate with project managers, team members, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
12. Contribute to the project program and the preparation of Operation and Maintenance Manuals.
13. Participate in developing department procedures and systems.
14. Comply with health and safety policies.
15. Perform additional duties as needed.
Essential Requirements
1. HNC/D Qualification (or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent mix of formal education and practical experience).
2. Practical demonstrable experience commensurate to the level of the role within the water/wastewater industry or other relevant sector.
3. IT literate with an ability to use a wide range of IT packages including Microsoft Office.
4. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and integrates well into a team environment.
5. Good interpersonal skills.
6. Professional approach with strong attention to detail.
7. Good organisational skills and ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
8. Open and honest communicator, able to deal with people at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
Desirable Requirements
1. BSc or equivalent in an electrical biased discipline.
2. C&G 18th Edition Level 3 Award.
3. Membership of the IET, CIWEM or similar professional institution.
