Job Summary:
The Dalmeny Hotel is seeking a dedicated and experienced Bar Operations Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our busy bar and ensure excellent customer service. The successful candidate will manage a team of bartenders, maintain high operational standards, and ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for guests. This role offers a great opportunity to be part of a dynamic team at one of Lytham St. Anne’s premier hotels.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and lead the bar team, ensuring high standards of service and hospitality.
2. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the bar, ensuring efficiency and organization.
3. Ensure the bar is fully stocked, monitoring stock levels, and placing orders with suppliers.
4. Ensure compliance with all health and safety, licensing, and company policies.
5. Train, mentor, and develop bar staff to provide excellent customer service and promote a positive team environment.
6. Handle customer queries and complaints in a professional and efficient manner.
7. Assist with budgeting and financial targets, including sales monitoring and cost control.
8. Ensure all beverages are served according to company standards, including presentation and quality.
9. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area at all times.
10. Support the Food & Beverage Manager with staff rotas, payroll, and recruitment when necessary.
11. Ensure that all equipment is in working order and report any maintenance issues promptly.
12. Promote special events, promotions, and offers to guests to increase sales.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
1. Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a bar or hospitality setting.
2. Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team.
3. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
4. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
5. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and licensing laws.
6. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
7. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
8. A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
9. Experience in cocktail making and bar service.
10. Previous experience working in a hotel or high-end hospitality environment.
11. Knowledge of stock control and financial reporting.
