Job summary Bevan Place is a 16 bedded male, step-down unit for over 50 year old males, with severe and enduring mental illness and complex physical health needs. It is situated on the Stepping Hill Hospital site, in Stockport. Our overall aim to provide intensive rehabilitation based on a gender and age sensitive approach to care. The unit aims to enhance life skills and community functioning, support them to effectively manage risk behavior's, reduce relapses and maximise their independence. Main duties of the job o To lead and develop in the delivery of occupational therapy to Rehabilitation services.o To be responsible for the assessment treatment and review of occupation of serviceusers.o To assess OT need and plan therapeutic OT interventions using the Model of HumanOccupation.o To lead on the development of group based interventions, to aid recovery, promotesocial inclusion and the discharge pathway.o To develop partnership working with all relevant agencies/services/individuals to supportoptimal care for patientso To work in partnership, direct, support and supervise the team's technical instructoro To carry out appropriate assessment and treatment of allocated patients.o To contribute to preadmission assessment of those referred to the RHS Care Hub.o To provide clinical and other support to the RHS Care Hub.o To work as an integrated member of the MDT.o To contribute to service development and service planning within the RHS Care Hub.o To attend appropriate clinical and management meetings.o To take students and provide in-service training.o To comply with the professional code of conduct for Occupational Therapy.o To maintain strict confidentiality regarding any information concerning patients and staff.o To be aware of and adopt correct procedures and departmental policies when treatingpatients, dealing with visitors, students and other staff.
