Job Title: Senior Legal Counsel - Real Estate

About the Role:
Our client, a forward-thinking organisation, seeks a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join their dynamic in-house legal team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a real estate specialist to play a pivotal role in shaping the company's real estate strategy and providing expert legal support across a range of property-related matters.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct in-depth property due diligence investigations, including title checks and analysis of transactional documents.
* Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of property-related corporate matters.
* Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including business development, finance, and operations, to gather instructions and provide tailored legal input.
* Mentor and guide junior members of the legal team, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional development.
* Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Land Registry procedures and Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) requirements.
* Draft, review, and negotiate a diverse range of real estate agreements, including leases, purchases, and sales contracts.
* Provide dedicated legal support to the Utilities/EV team on all property-related legal issues.
* Ensure compliance with all necessary approvals and regulatory requirements throughout the real estate transaction lifecycle.
* Contribute to a broader range of legal matters, including commercial, litigation, and corporate law.
* Assist with data protection queries, working closely with the company's external Data Protection Officer (DPO).
* Oversee and manage external legal counsel when required.
Ideal Candidate:
* Qualified solicitor with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience in real estate law.
* In-depth knowledge of property law principles, including leases, easements, and freehold/leasehold interests.
* Proven ability to manage complex real estate transactions and provide sound, commercial legal advice.
* Exceptional drafting and negotiation skills with meticulous attention to detail.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to work under pressure.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
