Head Baker required for a new opening. We are an established gastro pub company opening our own bakery. We seek an experienced Head Baker who is passionate about baking, has an eye for quality, and can manage all aspects of bread and pastry production.
As Head Baker, you will oversee daily baking operations, from opening the bakery to ensuring every item meets our high standards. Your role will involve sourcing quality ingredients, following precise measurements, and managing the dough-making process from start to finish. We are looking for someone who can also bring creativity to our bakery, introducing exciting new items to our menu.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee ingredient quality and ensure adherence to our standards
* Open the bakery early each morning, preparing ovens and equipment for production
* Measure and weigh wet and dry ingredients accurately
* Use mixers to blend ingredients for optimal consistency
* Follow procedures for dough rising, resting, kneading, and shaping
* Bake items in ovens or on grills, setting timers to ensure perfect results
* Innovate with new and exciting recipes to expand our baked goods selection
* Package and display baked items to prepare for shop opening
* Manage inventory and order supplies to ensure smooth operations
Qualifications:
* Proven experience in baking and managing a bakery or similar environment
* Strong understanding of baking techniques and processes
* Excellent time-management skills and ability to work under pressure
* Creative flair and a passion for high-quality baked goods
* Ability to lead, train, and inspire a small team
