Band 6 -Salary Range £39,912 - £48,635 per annum (pro rata)
Plus Distant Island Allowance of £2,380 per annum (pro rata)
Relocation Assistance of up to £8000 available
The preoperative assessment clinic provides a service for all patients who require surgical/endoscopic procedures in NHS Shetland, NHS Grampian and the Golden Jubilee National Hospital.
The post holder will be able to manage all aspects of patient care in the pre-operative assessment unit; they will assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care for patients scheduled to undergo theatre procedures in varied specialities following current guidelines.
The majority of pre assessments require staff to complete advanced clinical examinations and non-medical prescribing enabling the post holder to prepare patients for surgery in a safe and effective environment. Delivering care to adults and children in a holistic manner independently with reliance on anaesthetic/pharmacy/doctor input and opinion only needed in training and assessment of complex cases or complex management of medications.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently are essential.
