Your new role
As our new Senior/Principal Highways Engineer you will lead design packages and projects, engage with other disciplines, clients and site teams, and work collaboratively as part of an expanding and dynamic team. We are proud to be involved in a wide range of projects including National Highways Schemes, Design and Build projects, Local Authority and Private Developer Highway Schemes.
Your key responsibilities will be:
1. Lead design teams to deliver work packages and projects.
2. Line Management and mentoring for junior members of the team.
3. Drive technical excellence and help junior team members to grow as highway professionals.
4. Design and project management.
5. Undertake design checks and technical reviews.
6. Act as a highways technical lead on design tasks and packages.
7. Undertake financial arrangements for projects including fee forecasting and change control.
8. Apply and promote policies relating to Sustainability and Health and Safety.
9. Provide guidance, instruct, motivate, and manage staff.
10. Prepare bids and contract documentation.
11. Establish relationships with individuals from other organisations, generate market intelligence and new business opportunities.
Your new team
You will be part of you will be part of a dynamic Highways team in Ramboll. In Highways, we are actively involved in a number of major projects including the A34 Lodge Hill Interchange, A5 Western Transport Corridor and the Concrete Roads Framework. We are also supporting a number of exciting design commissions which include National Highways, the West of England Combined Authority (WECA), BAS Antarctica, HM Government of Gibraltar and The British Ports Association.

These include:
12. MEng / BEng (Hons) Degree in Civil Engineering.
13. Chartered / Incorporated Engineer or actively working towards a professional qualification.
14. Good working knowledge of highways design guidance, the DMRB and MCHW.
15. Experienced in the delivery of Local Authority and/or National Highways projects.
16. Experienced in the use of industry standard software.
17. Good knowledge of BIM procedures.
18. Experienced in project delivery documentation including reports, drawings and specifications.
19. Experience or knowledge of resourcing and programme management.
