Business Services Accounts Manager – Uxbridge
Ward Williams is a firm of Chartered Accountants with offices based in Uxbridge, Sunninghill, and Weybridge providing wide-ranging business solutions for small and medium-sized businesses. The firm has been established for over 30 years with a diverse client base of owner-managed entities through to medium-sized groups. An opportunity has now arisen for an accounts manager to join the Business Services team.
The role:
Accounts Manager based in Uxbridge, responsible for a mixed portfolio of clients and duties which will include:
* Review of statutory year-end accounts.
* Taking full management responsibility for all aspects of managing a diverse portfolio of clients.
* Preparation of limited company accounts adopting FRS105, FRS102(1A) and preparation of management accounts.
* Review of VAT returns and bookkeeping prepared by junior members of the team.
* Preparation and review of corporate tax returns and tax computations.
* Liaising with and providing general technical advice to clients for example tax-efficient remuneration planning (technical + management support will be provided as required).
* Being able to work as part of a team and managing/training junior members of staff.
* Liaising with the senior management to oversee the deadline management for the department.
* Providing assistance and training on accounting software to clients and junior staff.
* Billing, WIP management and other ad hoc responsibilities as and when required.
Experience required/Person specification:
To be considered for this opportunity, the successful Accounts Manager will:
* Have practice experience of 3+ years within a small to medium-sized accountancy practice.
* Ideally be fully qualified ACCA or ACA or be qualified by experience/be near qualification and be able to demonstrate a proven track record in practice.
* Be able to demonstrate excellent analytical skills with the ability to balance your workload effectively.
* Communicate well with clients, the practice directors, and colleagues.
* Have the drive to progress your career and a willingness to take on challenging work.
* A working knowledge of CCH – AP/Cortex (or similar) and a bookkeeping package such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks.
* Be able to work effectively within a team.
