What skills and experience we're looking for
Stour Valley Community School is seeking a Second in English to support the Faculty Leader of English from September 2025, for which there is a payment of TLR 2b, currently £5,643 per annum. The successful candidate will be highly motivated to achieving the best possible outcomes for our students and will be a committed team player who is determined to make a significant contribution to raising attainment across the English Department.
The successful candidate will:
• Ensure provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students studying in the curriculum area and continue to develop Years 7, 8 & 9 to ensure it is relevant and fit for purpose.
• Be able to be drive forward the quality of teaching and learning in the department.
• Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students in Years 7, 8 & 9 and use the data collected to highlight students and working alongside the Faculty Leader of English to construct interventions that impact on student outcomes.
• To coordinate the delivery of syllabuses, resources, schemes of work, marking policies, assessment and teaching strategies in the department in Years 7, 8 & 9.
