Rate: £26.59 ph inside IR35

Job Description
As Technician your main responsibilities are:
* Working within the Analytical Measurement Technology team (part of the wider Powertrain Facilities department).
* Responsible for the maintenance, calibration and fault finding of measurement equipment across the emissions testing environment including Portable Emissions Measurement Systems (PEMS), Chassis Dyno test cells, Engine Testing facilities and more.
* Conducting activities to ensure that the team provides the capability to accurately measure vehicle/engine emissions and deliver a high-quality facility to fulfil customer testing requirements.
* Performing scheduled maintenance, servicing and fault rectification activities across the facility.
* Providing and maintaining processes to ensure that productive capability is maintained.
* Utilizing strong technical capability, critical and analytical reasoning, robust planning, coordination and control of own workload.
* Supporting a wide range of engineering customers, skilled test facility operators, suppliers, external agencies and organisations to provide continuity of testing and assurance that our facility and output meet the requirements of established international standards for laboratory accreditation.
Qualifications / Skills needed
* Apprenticeship or NVQ3 or 4 years relevant technical experience in core competence.
* Proven ability to plan, coordinate and control own workflow and achieve quality results.
* Proven skills in fault finding and resolution, problem analysis and root-cause identification, with a methodical, logical approach to work.
* Experience with physical maintenance activities.
* Emissions, Mechanical and Electrical skills and knowledge.
* The ability to validate, prepare and read electrical/mechanical/flow diagrams.
* Understanding of Health and Safety requirements including adherence to Risk Assessments, COSHH and other relevant H&S regulations.
* Computer literate, including Microsoft Office competency to produce plans, presentations, graphs, process and SPL documents.
* Commitment, flexibility, self-motivation, and robust clear communication.
