Supply Staff Ltd are recruiting Support Workers to work with young people who exhibit very challenging behaviour and require a high level of support.
To support them effectively, you will need the following skills:
1. Communication skills: You must communicate clearly and respectfully with vulnerable young people and your team.
2. Patience: You'll need plenty of this!
3. Empathy: You need to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.
4. Office skills: Writing reports, updating computer records, and other basic IT skills are necessary.
5. Reliability: You will be a caregiver for vulnerable children in their own homes. They will rely on you to show up and be your best.
6. Resilience: The ability to stay calm and bounce back from challenging situations is crucial.
Qualifications/Experience:
1. A minimum of 1 year's UK experience working with Looked After Children of secondary school age.
2. An NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care is desirable.
3. The right to work in the UK.
4. A DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
5. Ability to provide references covering a minimum of the last 3 years, 2 of which must be professional.
6. Your CV must account for all periods since finishing senior school, with explanations for any gaps in employment over 1 month.
7. If you have lived or worked overseas for 6 months or more at any time in the last 10 years while aged 18 or older, an overseas police check is required.
